Last year at the 40 Watt Club, over 300 people of all ages and backgrounds came together to celebrate Mardi Gras and the community heritage of Athens, Georgia. Now, with the help of presenting sponsor Terrapin Beer Co., we are preparing an over-the-top night of authentic New Orleans jazz, Hors D'Oeuvres, and revelry. Also: the return of our crowning ceremony and best dressed competitions!
This year's Mardi Gras Masquerade will be a celebration of the history of Western Downtown Athens, a historic area that includes incredible treasures such as Hot Corner, the Morton Theatre, and the 40 Watt itself. In addition to a fun night of masked festivities, attendees will have a chance to find out how they can help Western Downtown Athens be recognized as a local historic district.
