Do we need reservations?
Nope! On Tour days, doors open 15 minutes before start time. Please be aware that Friday and Saturday nights are generally the busiest nights, especially on UGA home game weekends. We do have a tour attendance cap of 800 guests, so please anticipate a crowd on these traditionally busy nights and arrive early!
What forms of payment do you accept in your gift shop?
We accept cash, and all major debit/credit cards. Unfortunately, we can not accept personal checks. We do offer cash back at the register so you can tip your bartenders, or have cab money for later in the evening!
Do you have food or other drinks besides beer?
Terrapin doesn’t have food for sale, however, we do have the occasional food truck that stops by! You are also welcome to make good use of our picnic tables by bringing in food and any non-alcoholic drinks you want to enjoy. We have water coolers available (and a few extra dog bowls, too!).
By law, no outside alcohol is permitted on Terrapin Beer Co. property.
What’s the space like? Is there seating? Is there shade? Inside or out?
We have a large outdoor area with multiple serving stations and an indoor tasting room. Our big yard is perfect for a game of frisbee or cornhole with your friends on summer days! We have picnic tables and some individual chairs and tables available on a first-come/first-serve basis: blankets and camping chairs are encouraged!
Do keep in mind that our outdoor space is grass and gravel; wear comfy shoes that are good on uneven surfaces!
Why do I have to wear closed-toe shoes in the brewery?
We are a working brewery, and we must consider the safety of both our employees and our patrons. At times, our production line is running during tour times. This means that there may be wet floors, forklifts moving pallets, the possibility of broken glass, and cleaning chemicals being used.
To ensure that everyone has fun and leaves happy, we must require certain safety measures when in specific areas of the brewery. Closed-toe, comfortable shoes are recommended (and required for guided tours through our production facility). We will provide safety glasses and earplugs, if necessary.
Thanks for your understanding
Can I bring my kids? How about my dog?
We’re an all ages facility (You must be 21 to sample beer), so your kiddos are welcome! We do ask that you keep an eye on your kids, who are welcome to run around the yard as long as they are not disruptive or find themselves in a dangerous situation. Dogs are also welcome as long as they remain on leash and outside during your visit. If you pup doesn’t like crowds or other dogs, they may appreciate being left at home!
Can I buy extra sample tickets?
Per Georgia law, we can only provide a customer with a maximum of 36 oz of beer on-site per tour day. If you’re looking to try more of our beers, we do have take-home tour options that include 72 oz of beer to take home. Or you could take a ten-minute ride downtown and order a Terrapin beer at one of the bars/restaurants that carry our beer! (Ask a brewery ambassador for recommendations!)
