Hamburgers, hot dogs, sides (vegetarian items, too), a chili cook-off, and a moon bounce!  Meal tickets are $7 per person or $20 per family.  Sample all of the great chili on June 8th and vote for your favorites. Votes will be sold for a suggested price of $5 each.

The chilies that bring in the most money will be crowned the winners. First prize = a $100 gift card from Jittery Joe’s Coffee. IHNA (www.ihnathens.org) is a non-profit organization that works with a network of local congregations to provide emergency shelter and vital services for homeless families with children in Athens and Northeast Georgia.

Join us as we support Athens’ Green School Program.  Commemorative pint glasses start at $12 and a portion of proceeds will be donated directly to The Green Schools Alliance.  Live music by Lauren St. Jane Band.

The Athens Green School Program is designed to assist schools with environmental education and improvement efforts that focus on conservation, preservation, and beautification of our environment.

The program is a project of the Athens-Clarke CountyRecycling Division, Water Conservation Office, Greenway, Stormwater, Planningand Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful.

Pints and Paints, Athens’ original art bar and studio, will bringing their studio to our backyard!  The painting session will be held during our public tour 5:30pm-7:30pm (last pour) under our shaded 30′x60′ tent.  Session starts at 6pm and ends by 8pm.  Please arrive early.

Painters will be able to reserve a canvas by purchasing tickets in advance at PintsandPaints.com.  $25 – includes artist’s tip, commemorative pint glass, canvas and art supplies needed to complete the painting; free beer tasting and tour.

Not an artist? Not a problem. If you can hold a paint brush, you can become an artist with Pints and Paints. Their paintings are created for all skill levels, so whether you are an aspiring Picasso or someone who cannot draw a straight line, you can transform a stenciled canvas into an original piece of art as one of our local art instructors guides you through each step along the way.

Athens 1st food truck has made it’s way to Terrapin Beer Co!  They’ll be out serving up some grub to wash down with Athens’ freshest brews.  The menu changes from time to time, but the theme remains street food from around the world.  Come out and try them, you won’t be disappointed.

Terrapin will soon be launching RecreationAle, our first brew in a can and the next addition to our year-round line-up. For those folks who enjoy both craft beer and the great outdoors (and really, who doesn’t??), you know how big of a deal this is… you’ll now be able to enjoy both together! To celebrate the beer’s release, we’re teaming up with Chain Buster Productions in sponsoring the RecreationAle Flatrock Challenge bike race.

Venture out to Harbins Park in Dacula, GA on Saturday, May 25 for a day of racing and festivities. There’s a race category for everyone from the beginning trailblazer to the expert terrain-mastering maestro. Chain Buster Productions will be giving away custom Chain Buster/Terrapin pint glasses with each pre-race registration! In addition, both custom race medallions and prizes will be given out to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group will be awarded with custom race medallions.

The fifth annual Decatur Green Fest will be held Saturday, May 11 from 3-10 p.m. in downtown Decatur.  The annual festival brings more than 5,000 people to the Decatur Square each May for a free event celebrating living green.

This year’s Decatur Green Fest will feature live music complete with solar-powered sound, dozens of vendors displaying a vast array of green, sustainable, and organic products and services, a tasting pavilion highlighting local and organic food and drinks, an artists’ market featuring works created using recycled and upcycled materials, information from local and regional environmental groups, a kids’ zone filled with fun activities, and more!

The festival will close with the performance of headlining musical act Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project. Ed Roland is a native of Atlanta, and is known for his role as front man of the platinum-selling rock band Collective Soul.

Terrapin Beer Co. is the presenting sponsor of the event, which will be held in coordination with the Decatur Concerts on the Square series. All proceeds will benefit the Dogwood Alliance and the Decatur-based organization Poverty is Real. The Dogwood Alliance-a beneficiary of the event since its inception-mobilizes the public to increase protection for millions of acres of southern forests through transforming the forest products industry. Poverty is Real leverages the universal love of music to combat poverty at the local level by coordinating concerts that benefit community organizations addressing the issues of poverty and homelessness in their hometowns. 2013 will be Poverty is Real’s first year working with Decatur Green Fest.

While Terrapin Beer Co. hasn’t always held the role of presenting sponsor, the company has been involved and supportive of Decatur Green Fest since its inception. For the 2012 festival, the brewery released a special draft-only and limited-availability beer called Tree Hugger in support of both the festival and Dogwood Alliance; in 2013 Terrapin added Tree Hugger to their year-round line-up.
